Halloween Costumes From The Garden
Philadelphia (CBS) -- Need a last-minute Halloween costume? Go to your garden. Gather a bouquet of withered roses or other dead flowers to carry along with a pair of pruners while wearing a black dress and wig – yes, you're Morticia Addams.
Stuff some straw, dead grass, or stalks of browned perennials into torn jeans and a plaid shirt, and let some stick out from under a smashed old hat. Create a pillowcase mask, or just draw some lines on your face – there you go, you're a scarecrow.
Or use our friend Steve's classic last-minute costume– be a pile of leaves. Stick your feet out the bottom of a big black plastic bag and tie it around your neck. (Add leaves or pillows inside to make it poofy.) Staple leaves on the outside of the bag, especially sticking out around the neck, and attach lots of leaves to a paper plate to tie on your head with a string.
Or you can always just put on your gardening garb and grab some tools from the shed – who'd refuse candy to someone carrying a pitchfork?
