Free Workshops To Be Held In Delaware And Chester Counties For Families With Special Needs Children

By Lynne Adkins

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Workshops are scheduled for May to help parents with special needs children plan for the future.

Parents with special needs children worry about the future, especially what will happen to those children when the parents can no longer care for them. Plan of Pennsylvania is teeming up with experts to help families make those plans. Executive Director Ginny Koehler says the meetings will include legal and financial experts so that parents can ask the difficult questions.

"They want to ensure that if they are on any type of public benefits that they can continue with the quality of life with public benefits, as well as having access to supplemental needs trusts," Koehler says.

The free sessions take place on May 1st, 10th and 22nd in Chester and Delaware Counties. To sign up, call 610-687-4249.
