Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane Released From Montgomery County Prison Early, Says She Is 'Grateful'
EAGLEVILLE, Pa. (CBS) -- Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has been released early from prison. Kane was released from the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville on Wednesday morning after serving eight months behind bars.
The 53-year-old walked out of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility around 8:20 a.m. When asked how she felt, Kane responded "grateful." While it's unclear what she's grateful for, she was emotional.

The once-prominent chief prosecutor was joyfully greeted by family members seated in a black Mercedes SUV.
Her lawyer says Kane couldn't wait to get home to see her two sons.
The disgraced ex-attorney general saw a rapid downward spiral from what were believed to be lofty aspirations. She was sent to prison after being convicted of leaking confidential grand jury material and then attempting to cover it up.
Kane was released two months earlier than the low range of her 10-23 month sentence. Montgomery County officials tell Eyewitness News she was credited time for good behavior.
A political novice, Kane was embraced by Pennsylvania democrats and quickly rose to become attorney general. Once in office, she quickly made enemies while criticizing the handling of the high-profile investigation of Jerry Sandusky and Penn State University.
Adding to that, Kane took down members of the judicial and legal community after revelations of pornographic emails surfaced.
At trial, she asserted she was the victim of a vindictive and selective prosecution, retaliation, she suggested, for going after the "good ol' boy network."
Kane now returns to her home in the Scranton area — her future unclear. She has been disbarred.
