Fire Breaks Out At South Philadelphia Recycling Plant

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Firefighters battled a blaze that broke out inside a recycling facility in South Philadelphia Thursday morning.
The fire started at about 11 a.m. at the TRC Inc. (Transfer & Recycling Center) located at 2904 S. Delaware Avenue.
Authorities say businesses in the area were evacuated as a precaution. In addition, authorities said it was not believed that smoke from the fire was toxic.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Smoke could be seen in South Jersey and traffic on I-95 and the Walt Whitman Bridge was slightly impacted.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
