Eagles Finalize Coaching Staff

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Andy Reid has announced a host of hires and promotions to finalize his coaching staff for the upcoming season.

As far as new hires, the Eagles have brought on Johnnie Lynn as their secondary/cornerbacks coach.  He was a member of the 49ers coaching staff last season.

The other new face is Bobby April Jr., who is the son of special teams coach Bobby April.  He will serve as defensive quality control coach after spending last season on staff at Nicholls State.

The rest of the moves all come from within.  David Culley is now the senior offensive assistant/wide receivers coach, after serving simply as wide receivers coach since 1999.

James Urban is the now the assistant offensive coordinator after spending two seasons as the quarterbacks coach.  That role is now filled by former Eagles quarterback Doug Pedersen, who moves up from offensive quality control coach.

And former Eagles running back Duce Staley, who was a coaching intern in 2010, has been elevated to special teams quality control coach.  Staley, of course, was one of the most popular Eagles players in recent years, starring for seven years before ending his career as a Pittsburgh Steeler.
