Eagles Fans Hope Fiftieth is the Charm

The Eagles ushered in their regular season with an injury-plagued home contest against Green Bay.  They also honored the 1960 NFL champions, the last Eagles team to win it all.

KYW's Ian Bush visited with fans at the Linc to see what fans think of the Birds' chances this time around.

Joe from Bristol was just seven-years-old when Philadelphia last hoisted that trophy.  He was celebrating his 57th birthday on game day, and he said now is the time:

"I think this year, when [quarterback Kevin] Kolb (in photo) calms down, and stays in the pocket tight, he and Jackson are going to be the next Jerry Rice and Joe Montana."

A concussion took Kolb from this game, but Joe was looking for magic when the QB gets to to connect with DeSean Jackson.

"I got money on them being in the Super Bowl."

Others, like Steve from Bala Cynwyd, have too many unanswered questions about a young team to wager on such a win:

"To say 'Super Bowl' before the season starts is almost a curse -- you know that?  But a Phillies World Championship again might happen."
