Diner in Haddon Twp. Destroyed by Raging Fire
Firefighters in Camden County, NJ had their hands full with a diner fire this morning.
KYW's David Madden reports that the Newton Diner, along Route 30 in Haddon Township, has been in business for only about four years but the building has been a restaurant or bar for the better part of 60 years.

Just before 5am today, a fire erupted in the rear of the building and quickly engulfed the entire structure. Fortunately, there was nobody inside at the time.
Employees were preparing to open the diner when the fire started, and no one was hurt. The building, however, is a total loss.

A wrecking crew was being brought in to tear down the building so the remainder of the fire could be extinguished. Fire officials are confident that they will get to the cause of the blaze.
The owner declined to comment, but he reportedly put his life savings into the restaurant.
