Despite Lockout, NBA and 76ers Announce 2011-12 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - While many think the 2011-2012 NBA season is in serious jeopardy because of the current labor unrest, the league has released its schedule for the upcoming campaign.

For the Sixers, the season would start on Wednesday, November 2nd, in Toronto, with a game against the Raptors.

The home opener for Doug Collins' squad is then scheduled for Friday, November 4th, against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Sixers are scheduled to embark on a season-high nine-game road trip over the Christmas and New Year's holidays, beginning the trek on Sunday, December 18th, in Boston and ending it Wednesday, January 4th, in New Orleans.

The labor deal expired on June 30th and there is little hope at this point that a new one will be reached soon.

Should the lockout drag into the regular season, it would be the second time in league history that a work stoppage cost the league games.
