Delaware Man Arrested Following 5th DUI Offense

MILDFORD, De (CBS) – Delaware state police have arrested a man for his 5th DUI offense after he reportedly passed out behind the wheel of his car.

It happened around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say a concerned citizen called 911 to report someone left unconscious behind the wheel of a brown Ford Taurus that had stopped in the area of the 700 block of North Union Church Road.

Prior to this, police say they received another call from someone advising that the Ford Taurus was traveling southbound and was "all over the road".

Upon arrival, troopers located 29-year-old Jeffrey A. Bradley on the driver's side of the vehicle. Emergency crews were able to revive him.

Authorities say he immediately became disorderly with emergency responders and was transported to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital where he was evaluated by hospital staff.

At the hospital, police say the suspect attempted to flee but was unsuccessful.

Once released, a computer check revealed Bradley had four previous DUI convictions, dating back to 2007.

He was charged with 5th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Have Insurance in Possession, and Failure to Have Registration in Possession.

He is being held on $7,500.00 bail.
