Officials: Fatal Fire Caused By Elderly Woman Who Fell Asleep Smoking Cigarette

TRENTON, N.J, (CBS) -- Officials say a 74-year-old woman has died following a fire in Trenton, Mercer County.

The fire started in a sixth floor apartment of the Luther Arms Complex on Broad Street at around 4 pm Thursday.

Investigators say it appears the senior fell asleep while smoking a cigarette and her clothes ignited.

Neighbors are remembering the victim tonight.
