75-Year-Old Man Dies In Berks County Industrial Accident, Reading Police Say

READING, Pa. (CBS) - A 75-year-old man has died following an industrial accident in Berks County, police say. Emergency crews responded to a report the man was stuck in a machine at the Rose Corporation at 401 N. 8th St. in Reading, around 10:26 a.m. Thursday.

Coroner's Office Called To Scene After Worker Reportedly Gets Stuck In Machine In Berks County Industrial Accident

The coroner's office was called to the scene and pronounced 75-year-old Wilfred Santiago, of West Reading, dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.

There is no word on how the incident happened.

The company says it is supporting authorities in the investigation.

"Tragically an employee passed away today at The Rose Corporation. We are fully supporting the local police and investigators to determine the cause of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our coworker's family and loved ones during this time of loss," the company said in a statement.

The Rose Corporation specializes in high-quality contract manufacturing, industrial fabrication, and installation of engineered equipment.
