Chester Native, NBA Rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Surprises Mother With New Home

CHESTER, P.A., (CBS) -- It's pretty commonplace for newly minted professional athletes to splurge a little bit with their newfound wealth. In a recent YouTube video, we get a look at what Chester Native and Brooklyn Nets rookie, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is doing with his new NBA money. He bought his mom a house.

Hollis-Jefferson, a star at Arizona, was taken with the 23rd overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Rondae and his brother Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson purchased a new home for their mother and surprised her with it on her birthday.

Rahlir played his college ball at Temple University and has played for the Delaware 87ers as well as internationally. This year he will play professionally in Canada.

The brothers captured the emotional moment on video and shared the story with the world.

The Hollis-Jefferson brothers both starred at Chester High School before going on to play Division 1 college basketball. Throughout their careers on the hardwood, they have emphasized what their mother has meant to their success.

Purchasing a new home for her seemed to be a small gesture for the boys.

Chester as a city does not have the best reputation, but it is unclear in the video where the new home is. Regardless, the tears in their mother's eyes shows just how happy and proud she is of her two sons.
