Bus Crash Sends Dozens to the Hospital

by KYW's Jon McDevitt

Several people were injured in a tour bus crash in Atlantic City, NJ on Thursday morning.

Police Lt. Charles Love, with the Atlantic City Police Department, says that a bus owned by Sun Lee bus company in New York was on Route 40 in Atlantic City near West End Avenue about 11:30am when the bus hit a car, a guard rail in the middle of the road, then a bridge wall.

"The bus driver was ejected from the bus.  We had to call mutual aid because we had over 24 people that had to go to area hospitals.  Eleven of those people were taken to Atlantic City Trauma Center.  Two of them are trauma patients at this time."

The uninjured passengers were taken to the Tropicana Casino and Resort.

Lt. Love say he believes the bus was coming from New York's Chinatown.

The investigation into the crash was ongoing.
