3 Injured In Partial Roof Collapse At Lululemon In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia's Licenses and Inspections department is looking into the partial roof collapse at a popular athletic apparel shop in Center City that sent three to the hospital.

Several people suffered minor injuries after bricks from a neighboring building crashed through roof of the Lululemon Athletica on the 1500 block of Walnut Street.

It appears the bricks fell from an office building next door around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Christine Vandalis-Haley says, "It was huge, it shook! It was very intense."  She adds, "I think everyone was in shock. No one knew what is was. And the dust was so intense, you couldn't breathe."

Lewis Bove agrees. "A really loud crash. I feel bad that someone was injured."

Three women were taken to local hospitals for their injuries. They are all in stable condition.

Licenses & Inspections is on the scene investigating, and they say neither building has any history of property maintenance violations.

L&I say they're working with the owner of the high rise, listed as 1529 Walnut Street association, and their structural engineer. Officials say there is no history of maintenance violations for both of the buildings involved and everyone is cooperating.
