Officials Investigating How Body, Motorcycle Ended Up On Railroad Tracks In Monmouth County

MANASQUAN, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities are trying to determine how a body and a motorcycle ended up on some railroad tracks at the New Jersey shore.

New Jersey Transit says staffers aboard a North Jersey Coast Line train made the discovery around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday as the train approached the Manasquan station. Officials say that train did not strike the victim, whose name has not been released.

The train had departed from Bay Head and was headed to New York's Penn Station. It wasn't known how many people were aboard the train.

The incident caused train service to be suspended between Bay Head and Long Branch.
