Angelina Jolie Calls for Better Worldwide Disaster Planning

Angelina Jolie, a special goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commission for Refugees, has been touring Pakistan's massive flood zone -- "shocked," she says, at the extent of the disaster.

KYW's Bob Nelson reports that Jolie has been urging people to aid the flood victims.  But what's really needed, she says, is more advance planning for such disasters:

"It's not just the tent that's washed away -- it's somebody's home and it's collapsed, and it's mud.  It's their entire life.  Many of them lost their children in the flood.

"You make an appeal, then you wait for the money to come in.  And all the time people are just waiting to have basic survival.  So we have to find a way to get money and more tools put in place."
