Angel Food Cake Recipe From Chef Robert Bennett
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Angel Food Cake recipe from Chef Robert Bennett of Classic Cake.
1c. egg whites
¼ tsp. salt
9 Tblsp. sugar
½ tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. almond extract
9 Tblsp. sugar
¾ c. cake flour
Sift cake flour and combine with sugar.
Butter and flour a 10" Bundt pan.
Whip egg whites/ salt until soft peak. Slowly add first measurement of sugar. Whip until firm peaks.
Fold in flavorings and finally cake flour and sugar combination.
Pour into Bundt pan.
Bake 325F approx. 50 min. or until puffed and golden.
Remove from oven and invert to cool.
When cooled. Tap cake out or aid the release with a butter knife.
Dust with 10X sugar.
Serve at room temperature with fresh berries.
