UPDATE: Amber Alert Cancelled, Child Found Safe In Passaic County, NJ

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – New Jersey State Police have cancelled an Amber Alert after a father and his one-year-old son were located Monday night in Passaic County, New Jersey.

Passaic Police say at about 1:55 p.m., the non-custodial father, Tomas A. Quiles, 19, allegedly assaulted his child's mother and took his one-year-old son, Tyrus Quiles, at a bus stop at 33 Passaic Street in Passaic City.

The father was last seen walking on foot with his son in an unknown direction. Authorities say the father did send a text message threatening suicide. He does have a restraining order against him.

Shortly after 5:45 p.m. Monday night, authorities announced the father and the child had been located at McBride Avenue in Paterson.  The child was found safe.

The incident remains under investigation by Passaic Police.
