Acting Governor Sweeney Rescinds New Jersey State Of Emergency
TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) - The state of emergency in New Jersey was lifted Monday evening, state officials announced Monday.
Acting Governor and Senate President Stephen Sweeney says that while the storm hit the area much worse than expected, cleanup is well underway.
"Even though the storm is now passed, it will be several days before we have totally cleaned up the mess left for us by Mother Nature," Mr. Sweeney said. "I encourage all residents to continue to use common sense and caution when venturing out-of-doors, as some roads may still be hard to navigate, temperatures will continue to hold below freezing and blowing snow will still be a concern."
The state of emergency was issued yesterday after many counties in New Jersey experienced up to 18 inches of snow.
