PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Who could take the written word of Shakespeare and turn it into dance?

Roy Kaiser

Roy Kaiser, the artistic director of the Pennsylvania Ballet, says the great George Balanchine can, in "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

"Great choreographers, like Balanchine, can take the written word and tell a story through movement," Kaiser says.

So, when the company takes to the stage at the Academy of Music, it will be a chance to see the words of Shakespeare brought to life -- just don't think the material is too serious.

"But it's a comedy, and that's something that I think is important for your listeners. They can come to the theater, laugh, enjoy themselves and see some great dance," Kaiser explains.

The performances run from March 7 to the 17th. For more information, visit: www.paballet.org
