2-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Wynnefield Heights
WYNNEFIELD HEIGHTS, Pa. (CBS) -- Firefighters battled a two alarm fire that broke out in an apartment complex in Wynnefield Heights just before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Initially responding to reports of a fire in the third story of the Lincoln Green Apartments on the 4000 block of Presidential Boulevard, fire officials quickly ordered a second alarm when they discovered heavy fire and smoke billowing from the rear of the building.
At 9:30 p.m. the fire had been placed under control and all fire personnel were accounted for.
There are no reports of any injuries, although one resident was taken to an area hospital as a precaution. All surrounding homes and buildings were evacuated.
It is unclear what sparked the fire, an investigation is underway.
