007 Number 1 At Box Office

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - James Bond dominated the movie box office over the weekend.
Fifty years and nearly two-dozen films in, James Bond still has box office clout. Skyfall, the latest spy thriller to emerge from the series of Ian Fleming novels and the first in four years, starring Daniel Craig for a third time as British Agent 007, ran away to a rousing first-place finish by earning an estimated $88 million in its weekend debut.
Wreck-It Ralph, the animated attraction that claimed the crown last weekend, dropped to second place but had another strong weekend, taking in an additional $33 million.
Third place was claimed by the holdover drama, Flight, which totaled another $15 million.
Rounding out the top five were Argo and Taken 2.
Overall, with 007 leading the way, industry-wide totals were once again, as has been the case on recent weekends, well above those of a year ago.
