Zapruder Film To Be Sold As Video
The Zapruder film is coming to a video store near you. Starting in August, video stores will be selling copies of the footage of John F. Kennedy's assassination.
Abraham Zapruder shot the 26-second film as the president's motorcade moved through Dallas on November 22, 1963.
The Washington Post says the 45-minute video features historical narratives and interviews, in addition to a digitally enhanced version of the film. Experts say it's far clearer than earlier copies.
The film was a key piece of evidence in determining who killed President Kennedy. And the original has been in a government vault since the '70s.
The new video is being issued by Zapruder's heirs. They've been seeking more than $18 million in compensation from the government for the original. They're pricing the video at $19.98 on tape and $24.98 on DVD.
