Weekend Music Round-Up: back in Big Apple edition

(CBS News) When late Friday rolls around, you know exactly what time it is here on The Feed: half-past the Weekend Music Round-Up! And after a whirlwind trip through California, I'm in the mood to start us off with a musical nod to both NYC and California in the form of the band Smallpools and their new music video for the song "Dreaming" above. Take a look and listen.

And we're going to keep the Big Apple theme going with a local group I've absolutely loved from the very first moment I caught them reinterpret music in such slick vintage style. Their latest is a classic cover of a song you all know and love. So, pop a dime in the payphone and "Call Me Maybe" with this sweet 1927-style rendition from Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox above.

And while we're staying in the Northeast, we're switching briefly from the Big Apple to Boston with our request item up next. We have for you another song you absolutely know and love submitted by a fan of The Feed. Check out Rhett Price (and featuring Sage Griffin) give Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' hit "Can't Hold Us" a "classic spin" of their own at the Boston Public Gardens below.

And finally, we're heading back to NYC again and blending together our creative and "something a bit different" feature into one epic music video that words can't begin to describe. (Seriously!) The fact that it's got superheroes, martial arts, robots and so much more doesn't even begin to hit the tip of the iceberg for all that's going on at once in this one. See for yourself the music video for Steve Angello's song "Yeah" filmed and produced in Brooklyn from Rebels Studios below.

And with that, I hope you're all having an amazing summer, have an awesome upcoming weekend, and keep coming back to The Feed for all your viral (and music) video needs!
