We Kid You Not: Pa. Man Fined $935 for Using Goats to Weed City Property

JEANNETTE, Pa. (CBS/AP/KDKA) Officials in one western Pennsylvania town finally got a resident's goat - all four of them, actually.

Businessman Frank Trigona tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he has agreed to move his goats from a six-acre tract he owns in Jeannette, a city about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Trigona bought the goats in the summer to eat the weeds on the property, only to have city council pass an ordinance banning barnyard animals from city property.

Trigona named the goats after city officials and even marched the animals in a Halloween parade, where some citizens cheered and others jeered the animals. The goats even have a Facebook page with nearly 2,700 "friends" (other kids, no doubt.)

The businessman has been cited for "goat violations" at least five times, according to CBS affiliate KDKA.

Trigona says he gave up the fight and moved the goats to a farm after he was fined $935 for keeping them.
