Watch: New trailer for "The Hangover Part III"

The Wolfpack is coming back.

The latest trailer for "The Hangover Part III" made its debut Thursday, and this time it looks like all bets are off.

Billed as "the epic finale," the third installment in the "Hangover" series has abandoned the plot formula from the first two films. Perhaps this isn't a surprise given that many viewers voiced complaints about the overly-familiar premise for the second film.

This time, there isn't a wedding or bachelor party to worry about, but the boys still manage to find themselves in trouble.

The teaser opens with a funeral ceremony for the father (Jeffrey Tambor) of Zach Galifiankis' goofy character, Alan.

"I can't believe my daddy is dead," Allan tells the group of mourners, "I can think of so many people I would rather have died first. Like my mother."

Newcomer to the series John Goodman plays a mysterious criminal who enlists The Wolfpack to track down Ken Jeong's Mr. Chow. The gang travels to Tijuana, Mexico, before ending up where it all began -- in Las Vegas.

Melissa McCarthy is another new addition to the cast. Watch for her towards the end of the trailer below.

"The Hangover Part III" opens in theaters on May 24.
