Volcano in southern Japan erupts
As Japan struggles with the devastating impact of earthquakes and a tsunami that killed at least 10,000 people, the Shinmoedake volcano, 950 miles south of the quake epicenter, is emitting ash and rock thousands of feet into the air. An LA Times report said that Japan's Meteorological Agency issued a warning and noted that officials were unclear whether the recent volcanic activity is related to the ongoing quake activity in Japan.
