Video Shows 24 Missiles Fired Simultaneously At "U.K." Base in Basra
The 16-minute tape shows a number of videos of attacks that had never been released before, including firing
24 missiles simultaneously on what the group said was the British base in Basra. The variety of weapons shown on the video seems more sophisticated than those used by other insurgent groups in Iraq.
A written statement shown at the beginning of the video accuses the coalition forces of standing behind the recent operations against Basra militias, and warns Iraqi forces taking part in such operations that they too would be targeted by the group.
This was the group's ninth release and it is entitled "Sons of the Poor Cities." The group opted for distributing the video on YouTube rather than through the usual online Jihadi channels. Though no specific dates for any of the operations were given, the date stamp on all operations indicated that they took place in 2008.
