Video: Girl Avoids Being Crushed By Careening Car

VIDEO COURTESY OF KIMA

NEW YORK (CBS) A young girl just barely escaped getting crushed by a car in Sunnyside, Wash., and it's all captured in stunning security cam footage.

Six-year-old Yasmin Frausto was walking on the sidewalk outside of a convenience store when a out of control Toyota Camery backed up into a wall.

In the blink of an eye, the girl is gone.

But this story doesn't end the way it appears on the tape. Miraculously, little Frausto ducked down just as the car smashed into the wall. She was able to escape injury because the car hit a parking pole first, lifting the back of the car off the ground.

"Had she moved one foot to the left or one foot in front this could have been pretty bad for her," Sunnyside police officer Scott Orate told KIMA Action News.

The driver was ticketed for reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. The girl was unharmed.
