Victims to Serial Rapist: "Sucks To Be You"
JANESVILLE, Wis. (CBS/AP) "You made me listen to you," said one of the six victims who spoke at the Janesville serial rapist sentencing. "Today, I get to make you listen to me."
Victims confronted the man who became known as the worst sexual offender in the history of Rock County, in southern Wisconsin.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael Huber was sentenced to 195 years behind bars. He had pleaded guilty to six felony charges of first-degree sexual assault. A charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child was dismissed but read in at sentencing.
All six victims spoke directly to Huber at the sentencing, saying their lives changed forever because of the terror Huber caused them.
"You do not deserve understanding or forgiveness," said one victim. "You will never be able to lay your dirty hands on another woman for as long as you live."
Still another victim put it this way: "You will no longer be a free man. It sucks to be you."
Huber has admitted to six home invasions from 1998 to 2005. He was arrested in February 2008 after a 10-year investigation. Huber apologized and asked for forgiveness when he spoke, but his victims offered no sign of sympathy. They broke into applause as Huber was taken away.
