Undercover Cop's Murder in Ariz. Drug Bust Shootout Nets Sixth Arrest
PHOENIX (CBS/AP) A sixth man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the killing of a Chandler police detective during an undercover drug operation in Phoenix.
Phoenix police said Tuesday that 33-year-old Christopher Paul Gonzales was arrested Friday after recovering from gunshot wounds at a local hospital.
Gonzalez faces murder and other felony charges, along with five other suspects, in an alleged $250,000 marijuana deal that led to the death of undercover Detective Carlos Ledesma during a violent shootout on July 28.
Investigators say Ledesma died in the midst of an undercover narcotics heist known as a "reversal," in which police pose as drug dealers.
Gonzalez was being held in a Maricopa County jail.
