Tyler Perry's "The Single Moms Club" premieres in Los Angeles
Tyler Perry hit the Hollywood red carpet Monday night for the premiere of his new dramatic comedy, "Single Moms Club."
The Madea star was joined by fellow cast members like Amy Smart and Nia Long, along with special guests such as Macy Gray, for the film's big-screen debut.
In addition to co-starring as T.K., Perry also served as writer, director and producer, as he does with much of his projects.
The plot follows a diverse group of single mothers who band together and form a support group.
Actress Jenifer Lewis, who has previously appeared in several of Perry's past projects, appreciated this film's message.
"We have to honor the mother, we have to honor mothers who are single, we have to honor mothers who are not single," Lewis told K-CAL 9's Suzanne Marques at the premiere. "They wear a lot of hats."

"Single Moms Club" opens in theaters on Friday.
