Tylenol recall, try a mobile app to stay informed
(CBS/AP) - According to a Risk and Safety Management Alert System report posted in January of this year, pharmacy recalls jumped 33 percent in 2010. If you're feeling nervous about the rise of recalls, try downloading the USA.gov app for the Android and iPhone. The app pulls the latest recall information from six federal agencies.
Today's announcement of yet another Tylenol recall makes this app a must-download in keeping you informed.
The Associated Press reported that Johnson & Johnson recalled 60,912 bottles of Tylenol Extra Strength Caplets due to a musty moldy odor linked to a trace amounts of a chemical known as 2,4,6-tribromoanisole (TBA). The batch in question was made in February 2009 and distributed in the U.S.

Since September 2009, New Brunswick, N.J.-based Johnson & Johnson has had about two dozen recalls of prescription and nonprescription medicines, replacement hips, contact lenses and diabetes test strips, including tens of millions of bottles of children's and adult Tylenol and Motrin.
