(CBS) Grammy winner Sting and wife, Trudie Styler, have cracked the code to a successful marriage - having "tawdry" sex.

Married for 18 years, together almost 30, the couple, who also have six children, manage to keep the love alive in the bedroom by taking the time to have racy rendezvous in hotels and playing dress up. They aren't too shy to talk about it either.

"We don't get bored," Styler told Harper's Bazaar. "Being apart juices the relationship," Sting explained. "When we see each other, it's romance. I don't think pedestrian sex is very interesting. There's a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like to look good. I like her to dress up. I like to dress her up."

Their sex life doesn't involve rose petals, chocolates or romantic melodies; instead, Sting says, "Romantic? We like tawdry."

Sting and Trudie may make monogamy look sexy, but they don't deny the difficulty in maintaining a marriage.

"Relationships aren't easy, and I don't think they're particularly natural, but we're lucky because we actually like each other," he said. "We love each other--that's a given--but Trudie lights my world up when she comes into a room. I don't take her for granted."
