Three alleged "Felony Lane Gang" members arrested in connection with Texas car thefts, report says

(CBS) PLANO, Texas - Police in North Texas made arrests last week in an attempt to thwart a nationwide burglary gang whose alleged m.o. is to prey on women who leave their purses behind in their cars, CBS DFW reports.

According to the station, police say the thieves are members of the Felony Lane Gang, based out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Surveillance cameras in Plano reportedly caught them in action, driving an SUV in and out of parking lots at the Prince of Peace Catholic Community church and school this April.

On Wednesday, June 12, Plano officers reportedly spotted three men in the parking lot of the High Pointe Tennis Center, one of whom was wearing gloves and seemed to be casing vehicles.

When the suspect saw the officer, he allegedly jumped into a car and fled.

The officer called for backup and continued to follow the suspects. When a second officer arrived, they initiated a traffic stop, according to the station.

Once they pulled over, police reportedly discovered stolen property in their vehicle. The burglary that happened at High Point was the fourth burglary the suspects had committed that day alone, the station reports.

Police arrested Timothy Brown, Tremaine Bradshaw and Cedric Humphrey.

Police also say several other North Texas cities are looking into whether reports of car burglaries in their cities are the work of the Florida-based Felony Lane Gang. The expanding burglary gang has gotten so large that the FBI has now gotten involved, CBS DFW reports.
