This Week: Out Of This World
Oh Hollywood, you never disappoint. Just went an accomplished astronaut has a meltdown and embarks on bizarre journey for an alleged attempted murder and kidnapping — all while wearing a diaper — Hollywood produces enough juice to divert our attention from the space scandal. This past week was truly out of this world.
Actor Ryan O'Neal — who coincidentally once starred "Paper Moon" — could be in as much legal trouble as embattled astronaut Lisa Nowak. He is accused of firing a gun at his son Griffin O'Neal and Somehow, Griffin's pregnant girlfriend got struck with a fire poker.
Another celebrity who still seems to be residing in outer space is Britney Spears. While the blogosphere and tabloids continue to report on Spear's hard-partying during New York's Fashion Week (she was also dumped over the phone by her boyfriend Isaac Cohen) her head remained in the clouds. She was spotted with a tag still attached to her dress at Kimora Lee Simmons' fashion show. Come back to earth, Brit!
With each development in the peculiar Anna Nicole Smith saga the former Guess model seems more not of this world. Not only is she facing an impending paternity test for her daughter Dannielynn and dealing with accusations that her partner Howard K. Stern supplied her son Daniel with a methadone before he died, but she is also being sued by a group of people who claim the ads she did for the weight-loss drug, TrimSpa are misleading. She might as well just do like Kanye West's advice and "buy me a spaceship and fly."
Meanwhile Diva Christina Aguilera isn't worried about what Earthlings think of the naked Sundays she spends with her music executive husband, Jordan Bratman. They don't like to wear clothes; deal with it.
Justin Timberlake and comedian Andy Samberg had the world in stitches when they performed the "D*ck in a Box" routine on "Saturday Night Live." It was such a hit that JT brought the act back for his show at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
Timberlake and Samberg like putting boxes on their private parts; deal with that one, too.
Lindsay Lohan, meanwhile, is in her own little happy world as an outpatient at the Wonderland Center where she is being treated for … something. Yet Lohan has been seen out and about in that decadent Hollywood party world with none other than reigning queen of the exhibitionists, Paris Hilton. That's fine, just as long as Lohan doesn't put on a space diaper and try to track down ex-boyfriend Harry Morton's reported new girlfriend, Kimberly Stewart.
