"The Americans" leads 2013 TCA nominations

"The Americans" are going up against zombies and Walter White at the upcoming TCA Awards.

The nominations for the third annual awards show hosted by the Television Critics Association were officially announced Monday, with the FX Soviet-era spy drama landing the most nods out of any other program with four nominations.

Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell star in the series, which wrapped up its first season in May. It follows Russian spies posing as an all-American family in the 1980s. Rhys received an individual achievement in drama nomination for his performance.

"The Americans" was also nominated in the program of the year field, along with AMC hit shows "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead." Last year's program of the year winner, HBO's "Game of Thrones," also received a nod as well as the Netflix series "House of Cards," marking the first time an online-only program has been nominated at the awards show.

This year's Television Critics Association Awards will be handed out on Aug. 3, in Beverly Hills, Calif.
