The Amazing Race
Episode two of "The Amazing Race" continues in China. Tyler and James kick off the race at 9 p.m. since they were the first to get in at 9 a.m. Off to Mongolia for everyone!
Half of the teams leave at 12 a.m. and the other half at 2 a.m. The teams still seem to be faring really well. Coalminer Dave and his wife, Mary, are getting to experience Asian people and gay people that they admit they have never met before. They seem to be enjoying the new people and lifestyles, and it's honest and heartwarming.
The teams have to arrive at a temple to get their clue, then go to a village and ride a horse two miles to a meadow. Rob and Kimberley, and Tom and Terry are leading the pack. Tyler and James get a flat tire and have a broken jack! Bad luck for them. Lucky for them a good Samaritan stopped to help.
Dustin and Kandice, and Peter and Sarah get to the horses first. Kimberley seems to have NEVER rode or even come near a horse before, and takes her horse right under a tree and gets knocked off. David and Mary's car gets stuck in the mud and they must wait for a replacement. They get no time credit for their wait for a replacement car.
Detour time! They can either take down and properly pack a traditional shelter onto a camel or the teams can choose a cart being carried by a native animal — a hinick, which looks like a bull. Five miles away they must get buckets of water to bring back.
It seems like the teams that choose the shelter packing are having trouble with the detailed packing arrangements. Peter and Sarah switch over to the water cart, and Sarah looks like she's on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Then they switch back to the other task. I can't keep track of them! Dustin and Kandice, the beauty queens, seemed to use some of that beauty queen charm on their animal because they are first to finish. But, they lost their hat and aren't allowed to leave without it. So Duke and Lauren move into first.
Off to the hotel Mongolia for everyone for their next clue. The teams must hit a target with a flaming arrow. Once they accomplish that, they go to the pit stop. Peter and Sarah are the first team to arrive and they win a trip to Mexico, as well as an early start time.
Kellie and Jamie couldn't finish the bow and arrow portion and were eliminated.
