The Amazing Race
This leg starts out in the Sahara desert and Tyler and James start us off at 5:30 a.m. They must drive to a market in Casablanca and search for the next clue.
Dustin and Kandice are feeling the pressure this leg because they have a 30 minute penalty and this race is getting close.
Road block time! One member must eat a traditional Moroccan meal, which consists of camel meat! They must eat an entire pound of it, but luckily they let them grill it and add spices. Doesn't sound as bad as past food road blocks.
Tyler and James actually discuss how the meat is good. Hmmm. Dustin and Kandice have caught up with the rest of the pack from last place and are ready to eat some camel. Rob and Kimberly get lost on the way to camel-ville again. I can't believe these two haven't been eliminated considering how much they argue.
Lyn and Karlyn are having a camel-eating war with Rob and Kim. They are neck and neck until Lyn and Karlyn pick it up at the end and pull ahead. Meanwhile Rob continues to harass Kim as usual while she eats. This team is hilarious — dysfunctional, but hilarious!
After chowing down on camel, teams must now travel to Barcelona. At the airport, Dustin and Kandice ask the boys, Tyler and James, if they would let them step on the mat first to avoid the 30 minute penalty if they are neck and neck at the pit stop. I don't think that is happening considering how much the blondes have ticked everyone off including the boys. Maybe they should have thought about this before they made the other teams angry. It may be too little, too late now. All the teams make it on the same flight so they will exit the flight all equal in time.
At their destination, which is a huge maze, they must wait till it opens so the blondes go ahead and talk to some locals to arrange a cab to pick them up — smart, very smart.
Detour: lug it or lob it. In lug it, teams must go to a bridge and wear a local costume and walk a mile on the city streets. In lob it, teams must take part in a tomato fight while searching for a tomatoes with a clue.
Rob and Kim do the tomato fight and it's so funny I almost peed my pants. Kim gets beaned in the head with about 10 tomatoes and Rob is whipping them back at the locals. Funny stuff! They have a major freak-out and Kimberly uses her best angry voice to really scream at Rob, and I was actually thinking they might start beating each other with tomatoes.
I TiVo'd and watched this scene about four times. They tried to quit that challenge and go to lob it, but they don't have enough money so they go back, suck it up and find the clue. Lyn and Karlyn attempt the tomato fight and successfully get the clue. It looks like getting pummeled with tomatoes is the faster way to go.
Meanwhile the boys and blondes are walking around in giant costumes looking for the clue.
After they find the clue it's time for a pit stop! Rob and Kim are the first team to arrive and guarantee themselves a spot in the final three and a chance at the $1 million. Lyn and Karlyn come in second and make history by being the first female team to make it into the finals, and Tyler and James come in third place. Unfortunately — because they played a hell of a game and I love them — Dustin and Kandice come in last and are eliminated.
It's now between Tyler and James, Lyn and Karlyn, and Rob and Kim. Who are you rooting for? I'm not sure now that my girls are gone.
