HOUSTON - An Amber Alert issued for a 14-month-old Houston, Texas boy has been cancelled after he was found safe Tuesday in Arkansas, reports CBS affiliate KHOU.
The child's father, who was a person of interest in the case, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the station.
Houston Police said Tyemetheus Pack was reported missing early Tuesday morning after his mother, Angel Jackson, was found dead in their northwest Houston apartment. Jackson was last heard from on Christmas Eve when she reportedly sent someone a text saying she had been shot. A maintenance man called police to her apartment overnight for a welfare check.
Police have not commented on how the mother died.
Several hours after the Amber Alert was issued, the child's father, Tumetheus Levastavian Pack, was found dead in a vehicle in Prescott, Ark. Authorities say the missing 14-month-old was found safe in the vehicle along with two other children.
