Sync Your Contacts and Calendar to the Web with Autosync for Yahoo

yahoo-autosync.jpgAn oldie but goodie, Autosync (formerly Intellisync) for Yahoo synchronizes your contacts, calendar, and other data to the Web. That not only gives you a backup in case of disaster, but also makes your info available from any PC.

The software synchronizes data between your desktop PIM (Act, Outlook, and Palm Desktop are among the supported programs) and Yahoo's Web-based address book, calendar, task list, and notepad. (If you don't already have a Yahoo account, you can sign up for one free of charge.) Just head to the address book or calendar and click the Sync link to find and download Autosync.

There's no direct synchronization between your smartphone and Yahoo, but because you're already syncing the former with your desktop PIM (usually Outlook or Palm Desktop), the end result is the same. I've used Autosync for years and highly recommend it -- at least until Google comes up with something better.
