Steve Carell

Comedian Steve Carell stars in the NBC comedy "The Office" and has also launched a successful career in films such as "The 40-Year-Old Virgin."

The 43-year-old actor was born and raised in Massachusetts.

He was once a member of the famed Chicago improv troupe Second City and later worked with former "Saturday Night Live" star Dana Carvey on his short lived "The Dana Carvey Show."

Carell also voiced characters for the animated short films "The Ambiguously Gay Duo" which aired on "Saturday Night Live."

In 1999, he joined the cast of "The Daily Show" and remained on the show until 2004.

He made a successful transition to the big screen in "Bruce Almighty" and "Anchorman" before landing the lead role in "The Office" in 2005.

He is nominated for an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for the show, for which he won a Golden Globe in 2006.

Carell is currently starring in the off-beat comedy film "Little Miss Sunshine" and is slated to appear in the "Bruce Almighty" sequel, "Evan Almighty," and as Maxwell Smart in the big-screen remake of "Get Smart."
