Sonics' Baker Out With Injury

Vin Baker's season might be over because of a knee injury.

The Seattle SuperSonics announced before their game with Minnesota on Wednesday night that their four-time All-Star forward will miss 2-4 weeks because of a deep bone contusion in his right knee.

That means the Sonics, who haven't missed the playoffs since the 1989-90 season, could be without Baker in the postseason, too.

Baker's injury was determined by a magnetic resonance imaging test Wednesday.

The Sonics, who took a 19-22 record into their game against the Timberwolves, end their regular season May 5 at Los Angeles against the Clippers.

Baker was placed on the injured list March 23 because of a partial ligament tear of his right thumb, missing 10 games.

In 30 games this season, he averaged 13.8 points. He scored a season-high 31 points March 1 at Sacramento.
