NEW YORK (CBS) Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, star of MTV's hit reality show "Jersey Shore," was criminally charged six years ago for giving alcohol to minors at a house party that later ended with a classmate's drunk driving death, according to RadarOnline.com who broke the story Thursday.

Polizzi and three others were charged in the connection with Michael Truncali's death in 2004, after he crashed his car early Thanksgiving morning "after drinking for hours" in Snooki's basement party, the Web site reported.

Truncali, a Marlboro High School senior at the time, died with a blood alcohol level of .18, which is twice the legal limit.

Polizzi was charged with prohibited sale of alcoholic beverages. Because she was a minor, 16, the outcome of her case was sealed, reported the New York Daily News. According to police, she charged her friends a cover charge fee for the alcoholic beverages.

Polizzi is one of the cast members of the wildly popular reality TV show "Jersey Shore." The show focuses on the escapades of eight 20-somethings thrown together at a summer shore house.
