Smashing pumpkins depicted as an art form for Halloween

(CBS News) When most people think of smashing pumpkins, they think of a juvenile prank pulled primarily by teens around Halloween (or else a really great band). And then there is the video above, that takes the same hijinks you're thinking of and turns it into something of an art form.

The artsy-and-fun video comes from Thrash Lab, an Ashton Kutcher project, who has been highlighted here on The Feed multiple times for their amazing "Empty America" series. Their latest work is aptly entitled "Top 10 Ways To Smash A Pumpkin (Slow-Motion)" and they write about it:

In honor of Halloween Thrash Lab went pumpkin shopping and instead of carving pumpkins we decided to smash them. Shot in slow-motion on the Phantom Miro M320S High-Speed Digital Camera. This video reveals "10 Epic Ways To Smash A Pumpkin." (watch in HD on full screen.)

I've got to hand it to Thrash Lab, they really think "outside of the box" and have a way of capturing some of the most striking and amazing visuals. Another excellent piece of work from this group that we've come to love and are going to continue to watch here at The Feed! And if you'd like to check out more from Thrash Lab, be sure to visit their website by clicking here.
