Shrek, the famous sheep, dead at 16

(CBS) - Shrek, New Zealand's most famous sheep, has succumb to illness at the age of 16.

Shrek is best known as the sheep that got away--from being sheared that is. He was found six years later, in 2004, living in a cave.

His overgrown fleece and his story received so much media attention, Shrek was finally shorn on live TV.

Shrek spent the remaining 7 years of his life in his own complex, the size of most people's homes. Not too shabby a life, for a sheep.
