Second Cup Café: Melissa Errico

Actress Melissa Errico knows how to keep busy. Audiences can see her on Broadway, on television and at the movies. Now, they can hear her, too, on her debut album, "Blue Like That," on Manhattan Records.

Errico visited The Saturday Early Show's Second Cup Cafe to perform some songs from her album.

"Blue Like That" is produced by Grammy-winner Arif Mardin, who also produced newcomer and Grammy winner Norah Jones. Errico's pop-jazz CD has received praise from critics for songs that tell Errico's personal stories. The album also includes songs written by Randy Newman, Billy Joel and Shawn Colvin.

Errico, was born in Manhattan and raised in Manhasset, Long Island, by her sculptor/doctor father and opera singer mother. She did not have her sights set on acting or singing while she was growing up. She wanted to be a gymnast, according to her Website. But her dreams of tumbling for gold at the Olympics were cut short because of a weak knee.

She focused her attention on acting after attending arts camp, an experience which sparked an interest in theater. Soon, she was commuting to New York City to take dance and voice lessons.

During her freshman year at Yale, Errico won the role of Cosette in the First National Touring Company of "Les Miserables." She has since gone on to work in other Broadway musicals such as "Anna Karenina," "My Fair Lady," "High Society" and "Amour," for which she is currently nominated for a Tony Award.

Errico has made many appearances on television, from playing an ambitious New Yorker in the CBS television series "Central Park West" to roles in NBC's "Law and Order" and "Ed."

Her film credits include "Life or Something Like It" (2002), "Frequency" (2000) and "Loose Women" (1996) - to name a few.

She now lives in Manhattan and is married to Patrick McEnroe, the tennis player, commentator and U.S. Davis Cup team captain.
