Stephanie Sprang's son, Michael Kupiec, told WBNS that his uncle informed him that the bodies had been found. The family was not told until Thursday afternoon.

Sprang, 41, vanished last Wednesday along with Kody Maynard, 11, his sister, Sarah, and Sprang's friend and the mother of the two children, Tina Herrmann, 32.

Police in Ohio found Sarah Maynard bound and gagged in a basement of a house on Sunday and arrested Matthew J. Hoffman, 30, at the scene.

Knox County Sheriff David Barber has tentatively scheduled a 4 p.m. news conference to provide details about the case.
