Report: Rice To Run With Bulls

Free agent forward Glen Rice has agreed to a one-year, $8 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, Fox Sports Net reported Friday.

The 6-foot-8 forward played for the Lakers last year, averaging 15.9 points and helping Los Angeles win its first NBA championship in 12 seasons. Rice and his wife feuded publicly with Lakers coach Phil Jackson over playing time, however.

Chicago Bulls spokesman Tim Hallam said he was unaware of any agreement between the Bulls and Rice, but said Friday night the team has been talking to Rice.

Rice was part of a proposed three-team mega-trade that fell through earlier this month. That deal would have landed Rice with the New York Knicks, while sending Knicks center Patrick Ewing to the Seattle SuperSonics and Sonics forward Horace Grant to the Lakers.
