Rapper T.I. Due Back in Federal Prison, as Wife "Tiny" Faces Drug Charge
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) The wife of Grammy award-winning rapper T.I. has been charged with one count of misdemeanor drug possession stemming from an arrest that occurred two months ago in Los Angeles.
Tameka "Tiny" Cottle was arrested Sept. 1 along with her husband, T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., during a traffic stop on the Sunset Strip. Prosecutors charged Cottle with possession of ecstasy on Oct. 29 and she was scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment Monday in Beverly Hills.
Last week prosecutors declined to charge Harris in the drug case after a judge ordered him to be sent back to a federal prison to serve 11 months, for violating his probation on weapons charges. According to authorities, four ecstasy pills were found on the self-proclaimed "King of the South" in the Sept. 1 traffic stop.
According to reports, the multi-platinum artist was slated to report directly to the Forrest City low-security prison in Arkansas by Mon., Nov. 1, to begin serving his sentence. Harris previously served part of his 10-month prison sentence on federal weapons charges at the same facility.
